Sarajevo Siege War Tour | Tunnel, Bobsled Track & Jewish Cemetery
About This Experience
Yugoslavia didn't collapse overnight — it unraveled through nationalism, political failure, and the slow erosion of everything Tito had held together. By the 1990s, the foundations had been cracking for a decade. This three-hour private car tour tells that story, then takes you to the Sarajevo sites where it became real. Three stops. Three layers of the same history. The Tunnel of Hope — the 800-metre lifeline that kept Sarajevo alive through 1,425 days of siege. The abandoned Olympic bobsled track on Trebević, built for the 1984 Winter Games and shelled into ruin eight years later. The Jewish Cemetery — one of the oldest in the region and a hillside viewpoint where the geography of the siege suddenly makes complete sense. Your guide connects Yugoslavia's political collapse to what you are standing in front of. The history stops being abstract. It becomes understood.
