Nara: Sake Tasting Tour at the Birthplace of Japanese Sake
About This Experience
Step beyond the typical sake experience and dive into the birthplace of Japanese sake—Nara, where tradition began over a thousand years ago in the quiet halls of Buddhist temples. This isn’t just a tasting tour—it’s a cultural immersion into the origins of Japan’s sacred drink. You’ll visit four unique locations, including working breweries and a historic sake shop tucked inside old Naramachi, sampling a wide range of styles—from crisp and dry to rich and mellow. Along the way, your expert guide will share stories of monks, master brewers (tōji), and regional flavors, helping you understand the heart and history behind every sip. With personalized insight, direct access to local producers, and the atmosphere of Nara’s timeless streets, this tour offers more than sake—it delivers a deep connection to Japanese heritage. Whether you're a sake connoisseur or just sake-curious, this tour is the perfect blend of taste, tradition, and discovery. Kanpai, and welcome to where it all began.
